These symptoms become worse and small circular lesions start to form on the skin. The lesions can eventually cover the entire body and usually develop into blisters, papules or other types of skin problems.

When SJS is so severe that it covers the entire body and has the most extreme lesions it is called Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis Syndrome, also known as Lyell's Syndrome. The rise in cases of both SJS and TEN has been dramatic in the elderly population and is considered to be linked to medications like Daypro.
