Gadolinium/Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis (NSF)

Nephrogenic Fibrosis Dermopathy (NFD)& Gadolinium-associated (GASF)

Unfortunately, a specific dye, which has been used for many years in MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) procedures, and MRA (Magnetic Resonance Angiography), has been linked conclusively and repeatedly to Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis, or Nephrogenic Fibrosis Dermopathy (also called NSF, NFD). This very rare side effect occurs in patients with kidney disease who undergo an MRI or MRA with a dye contract gadolinium-based dye.

This side effect has occurred so often that the link between NSF and Gadolinium is now called Gadolinium-associated Systemic Fibrosis or GASF.

The Gadolinium dyes are contrast agents. They are injected into patients before they undergo an MRI or an MRA.

The FDA has repeatedly stated in various press releases that patients with moderate to end-stage kidney disease who are scanned via an MRI or MRA with the Gadolinium-based contrast agent may obtain the side effect NSF/NFD, which is extremely serious and could cause death.

Presently, the FDA has requested black box warnings for all Gadolinium-based agents to warn of the potential of NSF in certain patients with certain pre-existing conditions. The black box warning is the strongest warning possible, and is now included on Gadolinium-based products. The dyes increase potential fatal side effects in patients with certain kidney and liver conditions undergoing an MRI or MRA after being injected with a Gadolinium-based dye.

Symptoms include swelling and tightening of the skin, inability to walk or fully extend the joints in the upper or lower extremities.

We are investigating claims of victims of Gadolinium side effects nationally. We are investigating cases of patients who were given the Gadolinium-based contrast dye and later suffered from symptoms of Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis.

If you or a loved one developed this condition after a Gadolinium contrast dye used in an MRA or MRI scan procedure, please immediately contact the experienced lawyers at Nadrich and Cohen for a free consultation about your potential case. We are reviewing cases throughout the nation.

If we accept your case, we will represent you on a contingency basis, which means our fee is solely contingent on obtaining a successful recovery. Otherwise, you owe us nothing - not a dime.

Our law firm is representing victims who have suffered NSF and/or NFD because of Gadolinium contrast dye. Please immediately contact us or please fill out the inquiry on the right. If you are reading this after-hours or weekends, call us on our 24/7 hotline at 1-877-NADRICH.
