Tegretol Birth Defects
Tegretol, a widely used anti- convulsant, has unfortunately been linked to the increased risk of Spina Bifida in newborns when the medication is used by pregnant women. We are actively reviewing throughout the United States Tegretol birth defect side effects on behalf of mothers and children who are born with Spina Bifida after the mother was given Tegretol during pregnancy. Tegretol has been in use for over thirty years for purposes as an epileptic seizure medication and as an anti-convulsant. It has also been approved for bipolar disorder and Trigemina Neuralgia conditions.
Unfortunately, these epilepsy drugs, including Depakote and Tegretol, are associated with congenital birth defects such as Spina Bifida, which is a developmental birth malformation involving the spinal cord, where some vertebra are not fully formed. The result of the condition is that some of the spinal cord protrudes through the opening of the bone, leading to very serious long-term injuries.
If you or a loved one or child suffered these injuries please contact one of our Tegretol/ Depakote intake specialists at 1-800-718-4658. We have formed a national team of Tegretol/ Depakote specialists, including doctors, nurses, lawyers, paralegals, and expert witnesses to investigate, analyze, and pursue these claims against the manufacturers.
We are contingency lawyers, so there is no charge for our services unless we first obtain a recovery against the manufacturer.
