Zocor - Cholesterol - Lowering Medication

Zocor Side-Effect  -Zocor Causing Severe Muscle Injury Including Rhabdomyolysis

We are investigating Zocor side effect victims throughout the country and from coast to coast who have taken Zocor or the generic equivalent known as Simvastatin and were hospitalized as a result with a severe muscle injury including Rhabdomyolysis.

Specifically, the FDA has notified the public and all medical professionals that the 80 mg dosage of Zocor or its generic equivalent use should be limited because of the increased risk of muscle damage.

Unfortunately, there are patients who have a genetic predisposition towards a Simvistatin-(Zocor) related myopathy. The most serious form of myopathy is Rhabdomysolysis, which can damage the kidneys lead to kidney failure and can be fatal. The FDA has required changes to Zocor adding new warnings and limiting its use and dose limitations with certain medications.

The new changes are based on the FDA’s review of the effectiveness of Zocor - high dosage Zocor and the attendant risk of muscle injury. Zocor 80 mg should be used only be patients who have taken it for 12 months or more without any evidence of muscle injury or myopathy.

We are investigating Zocor side effect cases throughout the country. Please call one of our Zocor intake specialists at 1-800-718-4658.
