Car Hits Mountain in Fatal Bakersfield Accident

Bakersfield, CA (October 10, 2019) – One person was killed and another was injured in a crash in Bakersfield. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of October 10 on Highway 178.

The crash happened in the Kern River Canyon. A car was heading west on Highway 178, but went into the eastbound lane and hit the side of the mountain. The vehicle came to a rest in a turnout.

The driver, a 55-year-old woman from Bodfish, was killed in the crash. A female passenger suffered minor injuries. Neither were wearing a seat belt.
