Police Chase in Santa Ana Leads to Fatality
Santa Ana, CA (September 11, 2018) – One man was killed and two others were seriously injured after a police chase in Santa Ana ended in a crash. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of September 11 at Chestnut Avenue and Lyon Street.
The pursuit began in Tustin when police attempted to pull over an Infiniti SUV. The Infiniti sped off without its headlights on, leading police to believe the store had been robbed.
The SUV reached speeds as high as 100 mph on surface streets. The driver lost control and it hit a tree near Chestnut Avenue and Lyon Street in Santa Ana.
The front passenger of the SUV died at the accident scene. The driver and another passenger suffered serious injuries and were taken to local trauma centers.
