1 Killed, 2 Injured in East Pleasant Valley Road Crash


Francisco Javier Garcia Injured, Arrested in Oxnard Hit and Run Accident

Oxnard, CA (July 22, 2018) – A Good Samaritan was hit and killed while helping a victim of an Oxnard accident. The fatal crash happened on the evening of July 22 on East Pleasant Valley Road.

The accident occurred in the 1900 block of East Pleasant Valley Road near Syracuse Drive. A Cadillac Escalade veered off the road and hit a tree. A man and woman in a Jeep Latitude witnessed the crash and also pulled over to help. A passenger in the Cadillac suffered minor injuries.
 
A Ford Expedition then hit the two SUVs. The two women who stopped to help were also hit by the Ford. The driver of the Ford fled the accident scene but was later found by police on the roof of a home.

 
Francisco Javier Garcia was hospitalized and then arrested. A 51-year-old female from Oxnard died at the accident scene. A 23-year-old woman, also from Oxnard, was injured and taken to a local hospital.
