Driver Arrested for DUI in Fatal Visalia Accident

Visalia, CA (May 5, 2019) – A man has been arrested for DUI after causing a fatal crash in Visalia. The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of May 5 on Avenue 272.

A 21-year-old man was driving an Acura on Avenue 272 and was attempting to cross Mooney, Instead, he collided with a Chevy truck heading north on Mooney.

The crash left a man pinned in the rear passenger seat of the Acura. He was extricated by firefighters, but he died at the accident scene. The victim was a Visalia man in his 20s.

The driver of the Acura was arrested for driving while under the influence of drugs. He is currently in jail. The driver of the Chevy truck remained at the accident scene and is not expected to face any criminal charges.

PG&E Says It Knew Its Lines Could Spark Fires

PG&E Corp acknowledged in July 2019 that it has known for many years that its power lines could fail, sparking wildfires in the process.
