Bakersfield, CA (February 7, 2019) – A man was killed in a semi truck accident in Bakersfield. The fatal crash occurred on the morning of February 7 on Highway 99.

A semi truck was traveling south on Highway 99, near 7th Standard Road, when it was rear-ended by a pickup truck. The pickup truck went under the semi truck’s trailer. The pickup truck driver, a 47-year-old man from Delano, died at the accident scene.

PG&E Says It Knew Its Lines Could Spark Fires

PG&E Corp acknowledged in July 2019 that it has known for many years that its power lines could fail, sparking wildfires in the process. The acknowledgment came in a federal court filing which had been mandated by U.S. district judge William Alsup, who had ordered PG&E to respond to a Wall Street Journal article on a “paragraph-by-paragraph basis.”
