Dorris Train Accident Leads to Fatality
Dorris, CA (September 25, 2018) – One person was killed in a train crash in Dorris. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of September 25 at East First Street/Highway 97 and North Railroad Avenue.
A car collided with a train Tuesday morning near the California-Oregon state line. The vehicle was speeding and driving erratically before the crash. The driver smashed through the railroad crossing and hit the train.
The train stopped on the tracks of northbound Highway 97. The impact caused the vehicle to be thrown about 300 feet. The driver, as well as a dog, died at the accident scene.
