Semi Trucks Collide in Redding Accident
Redding, CA (May 9, 2018) – An accident on I-5 caused two people to become injured, including a bigrig driver who was trapped in the cab of his wrecked truck for nearly two hours. The crash happened in Redding on the morning of May 9.
The accident happened on I-5 near Knighton Road. The big rig driver had rear-ended another semitruck that was stopped in traffic. The truck got pinned underneath the one in front, causing the driver to become trapped.
Lanes of traffic were shut down as emergency crews freed the trapped big rig driver. He was taken to a local hospital for moderate injuries. A passenger was also taken to a hospital for pain. The driver of the other semi truckwas not seriously injured.
