2 Killed, 7 Injured in Solo-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 8 at Dunaway Road
Driver Loses Control in Fatal El Centro Accident
El Centro, CA (May 11, 2019) – A solo-vehicle accident in El Centro has killed two people and injured seven children. The fatal crash happened on the morning of May 11 on Interstate 8.
The driver of a Ford Expedition pulling a U-Haul trailer lost control and hit a bridge support post on Interstate 8 at Dunaway Road. The driver, a 42-year-old man, and his 31-year-old female passenger were both killed in the crash.
Seven children were injured. A 12-year-old boy suffered cuts and abrasions. A 10-year-old girl suffered facial abrasions and a tourniquet for her leg. A 4-year-old girl suffered undisclosed injuries. A 5-year-old boy had burns to his calf and abrasions. A 1-year-old boy had a contusion on his forehead and a 2-year-old boy suffered a broken clavicle. A 6-year-old girl was also injured. All were taken to various hospitals in the area.
