Car Falls Down Embankment in Fatal Bridgeport Accident
Bridgeport, CA (March 27, 2019) – A car went down an embankment in Bridgeport, killing two people and one dog. The fatal crash happened on the morning of March 27 on U.S. 395.
Bridgeport CHP received a call about wood in the southbound traffic lanes on U.S. 395, near Conway Vista Point. Officers arrived at the scene and saw damage to a guardrail. They then found a car about 250 feet down the embankment.
It is believed that the driver of a Ford Fusion was traveling south on U.S. 395. The driver then drifted, hit the guardrail and went down the embankment, overturning several times.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle, while the front passenger remained inside the car. Both died at the accident scene. One of two dogs in the car also died.
