Los Angeles, CA (February 17, 2019) – A DUI crash in Los Angeles has led to serious injuries. The accident occurred on the morning of February 17 at Central Avenue and 33rd Street.

The crash happened when a speeding Honda Accord, traveling at up to 100 mph, lost control. It hit at least five parked vehicles near the intersection. The Accord had seven people inside. One passenger was thrown more than 80 feet. That victim and another person were both hospitalized for head trauma. Only one person was wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the Accord, Los Angeles resident Wilfredo Vaquiz Escobar, 30, was intoxicated at the time of the crash. He fled the accident scene on foot, but was later arrested at his home. He faces felony DUI charges with bail set at $100,000.
