Family Dies in Gustine Big Rig Accident

Gustine, CA (July 17, 2018) – Three people were killed and two were injured in an accident in Gustine, near Los Banos. The fatal crash happened on the morning of July 17 on Interstate 5.

A Dodge Caravan was traveling north on Interstate 5 near Taglio Road. The Caravan slowed down because of a different accident and was rear-ended by a Freightliner big rig.

The 57-year-old female driver of the Caravan died in the crash. Two girls, ages 6 and 10, were also killed. The 6-year-old’s twin sister and a 19-year-old woman suffered injuries in the crash. All of those in the Caravan were related. The 56-year-old driver of the big rig driver was not injured.
