3 Killed in State Route 41
2 Men, 1 Woman Dead in Avenal Accident
Avenal, CA (May 12, 2018) –A crash in Avenal has left three people dead. The fatal accident happened on the evening of May 12 on State Route 41.
Three men – Tyler Veeneman, age 21,and two men ages 22 and 23,were driving north on State Route 41 in a Mitsubishi Eclipse. Two people – Luis Mendoza, age 65, and a 56-year-old woman, were headed south in a Ford F-150.
The Mitsubishi crossed into the adjacent lane, hitting the F-150 head-on.
Two men in the Mitsubishi died at the accident scene. Veeneman was seriously injured and taken to a local hospital. Mendoza suffered moderate injuries. The 56-year-old woman in his truck died at the accident scene.
