3 Students Injured in 2 Accidents in Front of Antioch High School

Both Crashes Occurred When Students Crossed West 18th Street

Antioch, CA (September 17, 2018) – Three students were injured in two separate crashes while crossing a street to get to Antioch High School. The accidents occurred on the morning of September 17

The two accidents happened within less than an hour of each other, but were not related. One was a hit-and-run accident, while the driver stopped in the other crash.
In the first crash, a student crossing West 18th Street was hit by a Toyota 4-Runner. A young white male driving the SUV failed to stop. The female victim suffered minor injuries. She was taken to a local hospital and released. Police are still looking for the driver.

The second incident happened as two students were also crossing West 18th Street. Both were hit by a vehicle traveling east. They suffered minor injuries. The driver stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with the police. It is believed glare contributed to the accident.
