Hit and Run Accident in Vallejo Leads to Fatality

Vallejo, CA (August 31, 2019) – One person was killed and another was injured in a hit and run crash in Vallejo. The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of August 31 at Redwood Street and Valle Vista Avenue.

Police arrived at the intersection and found a Nissan Maxima with major front-end damage. The other car involved had fled the accident scene. It was later located. 

An investigation showed that the Maxima was traveling west on Redwood Street. It made a left turn in front of the Altima, and the two vehicles collided. The Altima fled the accident scene. The passenger exited the vehicle and ran away but was later detained by police.

Two passengers in the Altima suffered major injuries. One, a woman, died at the accident scene. The driver was taken into police custody. Police found alcohol and illegal drugs in the back of the Altima.
