Head-on Accident in Brentwood Leads to Fatality

Brentwood, CA (August 25, 2019) – A head-on crash in Brentwood has killed one person and injured another. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of August 25 on Balfour Road.

A Nissan sedan tried to pass a Mini Cooper and collided head-on with a van at a high rate of speed on Balfour Road, near American Avenue. The driver of the Nissan died in the crash. The driver of the van was hospitalized with serious injuries.

E-Cigarette Use Linked To ‘Cobalt Lung’

A case study published in the European Respiratory Journal in December 2019 described a 49-year-old in California who developed hard-metal pneumoconiosis after using e-cigarettes for only six months. The disease is also known as “cobalt lung.” The National Institutes of Health describes the disease as a “rare but serious disease of the lungs associated with inhalational exposure to tungsten or cobalt dust.”
