SUV Hits Light Pole in Fatal San Rafael Accident

San Rafael, CA (July 21, 2019) – One person was killed and another was injured in a solo-vehicle crash in San Rafael. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of July 21 on Highway 101.

A Ford Expedition SUV was traveling north on Highway 101, near Lucas Valley Road, when it veered off the road and rolled up an embankment. The Ford then hit a light pole and landed on its side.

The driver and passenger were not wearing seat belts. Both were ejected from the SUV. The male driver died at the accident scene. The female passenger suffered major injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
