Single-Engine Cessna 172 Found in Wooded Area in Fatal South Lake Tahoe Accident

South Lake Tahoe, CA (July 7, 2020) – One person was killed and another was injured in a plane crash in South Lake Tahoe. The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of July 8 near Rainbow Road and Highway 89.

A single-engine Cessna 172 crashed in a wooded area near Rainbow Road and Highway 89. The plane was found 2 miles from the airport. It was crumpled and upside down. 

One person was found dead. Another suffered major injuries. The cause of the crash is unknown.
