1 Killed, 2 Injured in Crash at Genesee Avenue and Marlesta Drive
2 Vehicles Collide Head-on in Fatal San Diego Accident
San Diego, CA (July 21, 2020) – One person was killed and two others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash in San Diego. The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of July 21 at Genesee Avenue and Marlesta Drive.
A Dodge Durango SUV was traveling south on Genessee Avenue when it crossed the yellow line and hit a Kia sedan head-on. The SUV flipped over upon impact. The sedan was pushed into a Kia SUV, which slammed into a guardrail. A fourth vehicle sustained rear-end damage.
Two people were trapped inside the wreckage. The driver of the Kia sedan, a 58-year-old man, died at the accident scene. The driver of the Kia SUV, a 48-year-old man, suffered multiple injuries, including spinal and sternal fractures and cuts and bruises to his stomach and chest. The driver of the Dodge, a 20-year-old man, suffered a broken nose, fractured left leg, broken nose, orbital fracture and right lung contusion. Both were taken to a local hospital.
