Hit and Run Accident in Diamond Bar Causes Fatality

Diamond Bar, CA (August 4, 2019) – One person was killed and two others were injured in a crash in Diamond Bar. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of August 4 on the 60 Freeway. 

The crash happened in the eastbound lanes of the 60 Freeway, near Grand Avenue. A 24-year-old man from Pomona was driving a Mazda Protege, with a 21-year-old Anaheim woman riding as a passenger. The Mazda became disabled in the roadway due to a previous crash.

A 30-year-old Fontana man was driving a Chevrolet Blazer when he approached the Mazda. He swerved, but hit the Mazda and its driver. The driver of the Mazda died at the accident scene. The passenger suffered moderate injuries. 

The driver of the Chevrolet left his SUV at the accident scene and fled on foot. He was later arrested at his home. He was treated for minor injuries and then arrested.

PG&E Says It Knew Its Lines Could Spark Fires
