Joshua Young Arrested for DUI in Fatal Lemon Cove Accident
Lemon Cove, CA (September 29, 2019) – A drunk driver caused a crash in Lemon Cove, killing one person and injuring four others. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of September 29 on Highway 198.
Joshua Young, 37, of Visalia, was driving a Mercedes C200 sedan and trying to pass a car in front of him while traveling west on Highway 198. He went into the eastbound lane and hit a GMC Yukon head-on. Young suffered major injuries. His passenger, a 61-year-old Visalia woman, died at the accident scene.
The driver of the GMC, 56-year-old Keely Stidham of Tulare suffered minor injuries. Two children in the vehicle, a 6-year-old girl and 4-year-old boy, were also injured. All were taken to a local hospital.
Young was booked into the Tulare County Jail and charged with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and drunk driving with a blood-alcohol level of more than .20 causing injury – both felonies. Bail has been set at $100,000.
