1 Killed in Crash at Jamacha and Sweetwater Roads

2 Teens Steal, Crash Vehicle in Fatal Spring Valley Accident

Spring Valley, CA (February 12, 2021) – One person was killed in a crash and several were injured in a crash caused by a stolen vehicle in Spring Valley. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of February 12 at Jamacha and Sweetwater roads.

Police attempted to pull over a stolen vehicle, but the driver fled. Minutes later, the stolen car ran a red light at the intersection and collided with two vehicles. 

In one vehicle was a 21-year-old woman. She was critically injured and taken to a local hospital, where she later died. In the second vehicle were two men and a 15-month-old child. They were hospitalized with moderate to serious injuries, but are expected to survive.

The 17-year-old driver of the stolen vehicle fled the accident scene but was later caught and arrested for gross vehicular manslaughter and possession of a stolen vehicle. The 16-year-old passenger was arrested for having a handgun in the car. Both were treated for minor injuries before being booked into juvenile hall.
