1 Killed in Crash at Mt. Vernon Avenue and Niles Street


3 Vehicles Involved in Fatal Bakersfield Accident

Bakersfield, CA (May 21, 2020) – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Bakersfield. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of May 21 at Mt. Vernon Avenue and Niles Street.

The driver of a Honda Civic ran a red light and hit two other cars at the intersection. The driver of the Honda Civic suffered moderate injuries. A passenger in the Honda Civic died at the accident scene.

The driver of a Volvo sedan suffered minor injuries. The driver of the third car, identified as a Nissan sedan, fled the crash site. The driver of the Honda Civic was arrested for DUI.
