1 Killed in Crash on Highway 223 at Fairfax Road


8 Others Injured in Fatal Bakersfield Accident

Bakersfield, CA (April 21, 2020) – A man was killed and eight others were injured in a crash in Bakersfield. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of April 21 on Highway 223.

A 67-year-old Arvin man was driving a Dodge Caliber south on Fairfax Road when he made a left turn onto Highway 223. He hit a Chevy Suburban heading west on Highway 223.

The driver of the Chevy swerved to the left to avoid a collision but was hit on the right side. The vehicle overturned and landed on the shoulder of the road. 

There were six people inside the Chevy. One was killed and five others suffered minor injuries. Three occupants in the Dodge were hospitalized with minor injuries.
