South Lake Tahoe, CA (September 7, 2019) – One person has killed in a fuel tanker truck crash in South Lake Tahoe. The accident occurred on the afternoon of September 7 on Highway 50.

A fuel tanker crash and several other vehicles collided on Highway 50 near Elks Club Drive. The cars caught fire, with the flames spreading into nearby vegetation.

The tanker truck turned onto its side. It had one full trailer of fuel, which was transferred to another trailer. One person was killed in the crash.

E-Cigarette Use Linked To ‘Cobalt Lung’

A case study published in the European Respiratory Journal in December 2019 described a 49-year-old in California who developed hard-metal pneumoconiosis after using e-cigarettes for only six months. The disease is also known as “cobalt lung.” The National Institutes of Health describes the disease as a “rare but serious disease of the lungs associated with inhalational exposure to tungsten or cobalt dust.”
