Car, Semi Truck Collide in Fatal Bakersfield Accident

Bakersfield, CA (October 26, 2019) – One person was killed in a semi truck crash in Bakersfield. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of October 26 on Highway 99.

A car and a semi truck collided on Highway 99 near Copus Road. The semi truck jackknifed in the middle of the freeway. Two people were pinned inside the car. One person was killed in the crash.

E-Cigarette Use Linked To ‘Cobalt Lung’

A case study published in the European Respiratory Journal in December 2019 described a 49-year-old in California who developed hard-metal pneumoconiosis after using e-cigarettes for only six months. The disease is also known as “cobalt lung.” The National Institutes of Health describes the disease as a “rare but serious disease of the lungs associated with inhalational exposure to tungsten or cobalt dust.”
