1 Killed in Crash on State Route 62

4 Vehicles Collide in Fatal Desert Hot Springs Accident

Desert Hot Springs, CA (June 13, 2020) – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Desert Hot Springs. The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of June 13 on State Route 62.

A 37-year-old man was driving a Chrysler Town & Country minivan when he failed to yield at State Route 62. He hit a Ford Flex that was heading north. The driver was a 71-year-old man from Winterhaven.

The impact pushed the minivan into a Mini Cooper, driven by a 30-year-old man from Yucca Valley. The Mini Cooper then hit a Jeep Cherokee heading south. The driver was a 72-year-old man.

Two people were trapped inside the wreckage and had to be freed by emergency crews. The driver and a passenger of the minivan were taken to a local hospital. The driver later died. Others involved in the crash were hospitalized with minor injuries.
