Driver Hits Freeway Sign in Fatal La Mesa Accident

La Mesa, CA (January 20, 2020) – One person was killed in a solo-vehicle crash in La Mesa. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of January 20 on Interstate 8. 

A driver crashed into a freeway sign pole on eastbound Interstate 8, near Baltimore Drive. The vehicle then came to a stop on an embankment and burst into flames. The driver died at the accident scene. It is believed that the car came off a nearby overpass and crashed down onto Interstate 8.
