1 Killed in Head-on Crash at Santa Lucia Canyon and Victory Roads

Michael Culligan Arrested in Fatal Lompoc Accident

Lompoc, CA (June 16, 2020) – One person was killed in a head-on crash in Lompoc. The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of June 16 at Santa Lucia Canyon and Victory roads.

The crash happened between Lompoc Federal Prison and Vandenberg Air Force Base. A Jeep and a Lexus sedan collided head-on at the intersection. The driver of the Lexus – a 35-year-old man from Santa Maria – was killed in the crash. The passenger – a 37-year-old woman from Santa Maria – was airlifted to a local hospital with major injuries.

The driver of the Jeep fled the accident scene. He was found several hours later 1.5 miles away from the crash site. He has been arrested and is in federal custody. He has been identified as Michael Culligan, 29, of Lompoc.
