La Mesa, CA (October 31, 2019) – One person was killed in a pedestrian crash in La Mesa. The fatal accident occurred just after midnight on October 31 on Highway 125.

A motorcycle, another vehicle and a pedestrian were involved in the crash, which happened near Highway 125 and Interstate 8. The cause of the crash is unknown.

Emergency crews attended to the victims of the crash. One person died from their injuries. It is unknown whether or not the victim was the pedestrian.

A case study published in the European Respiratory Journal in December 2019 described a 49-year-old in California who developed hard-metal pneumoconiosis after using e-cigarettes for only six months. The disease is also known as “cobalt lung.” The National Institutes of Health describes the disease as a “rare but serious disease of the lungs associated with inhalational exposure to tungsten or cobalt dust.”
