2 Children Killed in Crash on Interstate 580 Near Lakeshore Avenue


3 Vehicles Involved in Fatal Oakland Accident

Oakland, CA (May 7, 2020) – Two children were killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Oakland. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of May 7 on Interstate 580.

The driver of a Honda Accord lost control on Interstate 580, near Lakeshore Avenue. It rear-ended a Ford F-250 parked in the center divide. The Ford was a rental truck being used by two Caltrans employees. They were outside of the vehicle conducting maintenance at the time. The Honda was then hit by a Toyota Sienna minivan.

Two children in the Honda Accord died in the crash. A third child suffered moderate injuries. The female driver of the Honda was hospitalized with major injuries.
