2 Vehicles Collide Head-on in Fatal Carlsbad Accident

Carlsbad, CA (January 14, 2020) – Two people were killed and one was injured in a head-on crash in Carlsbad. The fatal accident occurred just after midnight on January 14 on Interstate 5.

A 19-year-old man from Utah was heading north on Interstate 5, near Las Flores Drive, in a Pontiac Grand Prix. A southbound Ford F-150, driven a 42-year-old San Diego man, crossed into the northbound lanes and hit the Pontiac head-on.

Both drivers died in the crash. A passenger in the Ford, a 35-year-old San Diego man, was hospitalized with major injuries.

A case study published in the European Respiratory Journal in December 2019 described a 49-year-old in California who developed hard-metal pneumoconiosis after using e-cigarettes for only six months.
