2 Killed, 3 Injured in Crash at Pelican Hill Road and Newport Coast Drive
Grace Elizabeth Coleman Arrested for DUI in Fatal Newport Beach Accident
Newport Beach, CA (December 8, 2020) – A man and a woman were killed and three children were injured in a DUI crash in Newport Beach. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of December 8 at Pelican Hill Road and Newport Coast Drive.
A Nissan and a Range Rover collided at the intersection. A man, identified as Henry Eduardo Saldana-Mejia, and his wife, whose name was not released, were in the Nissan. Both were killed in the crash. The couple’s children — ages 1, 3, and 5 – were hospitalized in critical condition.
The Range Rover was driven by a 22-year-old woman who fled the scene on foot. She was later taken into custody. She was identified as Grace Elizabeth Coleman of Newport Beach. Coleman was arrested for murder, DUI causing bodily injury and hit-and-run resulting in death.
