Car Plunges Off Cliff in Fatal Big Sur Accident

Big Sur, CA (February 18, 2020) – Two people were killed in a solo-vehicle crash in Big Sur. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of February 18 on Highway 1.

CHP responded to a vegetation fire on Highway 1 near Big Creek Bridge. They found a Chevrolet Camaro – a rental car – 300 feet down the cliff and engulfed in flames. A search and rescue crew pulled two bodies out of the wreckage. Both victims were killed in the crash.
