2 Pedestrians Injured in Separate Simi Valley Accidents

Pedestrian Accident

Simi Valley, CA (October 5, 2019) – Two pedestrians were injured in separate incidents just minutes apart in Simi Valley. The crashes happened on the morning of October 5 on Highway 118.

Both incidents occurred near the Rocky Peak Road overpass. In the first incident, a pedestrian was reportedly lying down on the entrance ramp from Rocky Peak to westbound Highway 118. The victim, a man from Winnetka in his early 20s, had lacerations to his head. The cause of the crash is unknown. He was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Just 15 minutes later, the officer at the first crash scene heard tires screeching and could see cars stopped. The officer found that a pedestrian had been hit by a semi truck.

The second victim, an unidentified man, suffered serious injuries. The cause of the crash is unknown. His vehicle was found on the right shoulder, so it was not clear how he got hit.

FDA Issues Warnings To Two Manufacturers Of Breast Implants

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) just issued warning letters to two manufacturers of breast implants for failing to comply with regulatory requirements. The FDA sent a warning letter to Allergan for failure to comply with requirements to conduct post-approval studies assessing the risks and long-term safety of two separate breast implant models. Both breast implant models were voluntarily recalled last year. The FDA also sent a warning letter to Ideal Implant Incorporated. That letter was sent for failing to comply with adverse event reporting requirements and current good manufacturing practice requirements. The letter was prompted by an inspection which was conducted earlier in 2020.
