High-Speed Chase Leads to Stockton Accident

Stockton, CA (August 20, 2019) – Three people were injured after a high-speed chase caused a crash in Stockton. The accident occurred on the afternoon of August 20 at Hammer Lane and Maranatha Drive. 

A CHP officer tried to stop the driver of a Nissan sedan on northbound Highway 99, but a chase ensued. The Nissan reached speeds of up to 120 mph. The driver exited the highway at Hammer Lane.

Even though the CHP officer stopped the chase, the suspect’s car continued to speed down Hammer Lane and eventually slammed into a BMW at the intersection of Hammer Lane and Maranatha Drive.

The impact caused the Nissan to roll over. The two occupants were hospitalized with major injuries. The driver of the BMW suffered minor injuries. A third vehicle was hit by debris, but the driver was not injured.
