Car Catches Fire in San Rafael Accident
San Rafael, CA (September 18, 2019) – A woman and her two children injured in a crash in San Rafael. The accident occurred on the morning of September 18 on Highway 101.
The crash happened on northbound Highway 101, near St. Vincent’s Drive. The adult driver and her two children were in an SUV when it suddenly swerved out of control. The SUV hit the center divide, sending it across the freeway. It crashed into a car before rolling down an embankment and catching fire.
Crews put out the fire. The woman and her two children, a 3-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl, were rescued by a Good Samaritan.
The children were taken to separate hospitals. Both suffered life-threatening injuries. The woman was airlifted to a local hospital. The other driver was not injured.
