3 Injured in Crash on Sunset Cliffs

Suicide Attempt Results in San Diego Accident

Coronado, CA (June 13, 2020) – Two children were injured when their suicidal father drove off the Sunset Cliffs in Coronado. The accident occurred on the morning of June 13 on the San Diego-Coronado Bridge.

A woman called authorities and reported that her husband had taken off with their two 2-year-old children and planned to drive off the San Diego-Coronado Bridge. Officers located the man’s tan pickup truck on Hill Street. However, they could not stop the truck, which sped up and went over the cliffs. The pickup truck landed 50 feet below.

The father and one of the children were able to get out of the truck. The other child had to be rescued. All three were hospitalized with unknown injuries.
