3 Killed, 5 Injured in Crashes on Interstate 8 Near In-Ko-Pah Park Road


Vehicles Go Off Road in 2 Fatal Ocotillo Accidents

Ocotillo, CA (November 8, 2020) – Three people were killed and five others were injured in two crashes in Ocotillo. The fatal accidents occurred on the evening of November 8 on Interstate 8.

In the first crash, a Toyota Solara was traveling on eastbound Interstate 8, near In-Ko-Pah Park Road. A 16-year-old boy was driving with a 16-year-old passenger when he made an unsafe turn. The car went off the road and rolled over. The driver was ejected from the Toyota.  He died at the accident scene. The passenger was injured and taken to a local hospital. 

In the second crash, a 20-year-old man was driving a Toyota Sequoia with four other people when he made an unsafe turn. The Toyota went off the roadway and crashed into a mountain. A 20-year-old male passenger died at the accident scene. The driver was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. The other passengers – two 20-year-olds, a 19-year-old and an 18-year-old – were injured.
