Amtrak Train, Car Collide in Fatal Richmond Accident

Richmond, CA (October 28, 2019) – Three people were killed in a train crash in Richmond. The fatal accident occurred just after midnight on October 28 at Brookside Drive and Giant Road.

A northbound Amtrak long-distance train hit a vehicle at a railroad crossing near Brookside Drive and Giant Road. All three occupants inside the vehicle were killed. Nobody aboard the train was injured.

E-Cigarette Use Linked To ‘Cobalt Lung’

A case study published in the European Respiratory Journal in December 2019 described a 49-year-old in California who developed hard-metal pneumoconiosis after using e-cigarettes for only six months. The disease is also known as “cobalt lung.” The National Institutes of Health describes the disease as a “rare but serious disease of the lungs associated with inhalational exposure to tungsten or cobalt dust.”
