Truck Crashes Into Canal in Fatal Thermalito Accident

Thermalito, CA (April 12, 2020) – A man and two children were killed in a solo-vehicle crash in Thermalito. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of April 12 on Grand Avenue.

Colby Allen Brookman was driving a GMC Sierra west on Grand Avenue. He was speeding and could not stop in time when the road ended. He crashed into a fence and went down an embankment. The GMC then went airborne and entered the Thermalito Dam canal.

Brookman and a female passenger were able to get out of the GMC. However, three other passengers – a 32-year-old Oroville man and two children – were stuck in the back seats.

The Oroville man died in the accident. The two children – ages 1 and 7 months – were taken to a local hospital, where they died the next day.

Brookman was arrested and taken to a local hospital with major injuries. He is being charged with felony driving under the influence and felony child endangerment.

FDA Issues Warnings To Two Manufacturers Of Breast Implants

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) just issued warning letters to two manufacturers of breast implants for failing to comply with regulatory requirements. The FDA sent a warning letter to Allergan for failure to comply with requirements to conduct post-approval studies assessing the risks and long-term safety of two separate breast implant models. Both breast implant models were voluntarily recalled last year. The FDA also sent a warning letter to Ideal Implant Incorporated. That letter was sent for failing to comply with adverse event reporting requirements and current good manufacturing practice requirements. The letter was prompted by an inspection which was conducted earlier in 2020.
