4 Workers From Bakersfield Homeless Center Injured in Crash

Vehicle Hits Workers, Caltrans Truck in Bakersfield Accident

Bakersfield, CA (July 7, 2020) – Four crew members working for the Bakersfield Homeless Center were injured in a crash in Bakersfield. The accident occurred just before noon on July 7 on Highway 178.

Crews were picking up trash on Highway 178. A Caltrans truck was following behind them when another vehicle veered off the road and sideswiped the Caltrans truck. The vehicle continued on and hit four workers.

Two workers suffered minor to moderate injuries, while the third worker suffered major injuries. The driver of the Caltrans truck complained of pain. All were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle remained at the accident scene.
