Eduardo Luis Blanco Arrested for DUI in Bakersfield Accident
Bakersfield, CA (August 12, 2019) – A man was arrested after causing a head-on crash in Bakersfield that injured himself and seven other people. The accident occurred on the evening of August 12 on Di Giorgio Road
Eduardo Luis Blanco, 27, was driving a GMC Sierra east on Di Giorgio Road, near Cottonwood Road. The pickup drifted over the yellow line and hit a Dodge Charger head-on.
Blanco suffered a broken femur. Four others in the GMC, including three children, ages 3, 4 and 9, suffered various injuries, including a broken arm and femur and lacerations.
A 9-month-old in the Dodge suffered bleeding on the brain. The driver of the Dodge suffered a broken leg and facial lacerations. A woman suffered a broken femur and lacerations. All were taken to various hospitals for treatment.
Blanco was arrested for DUI. He pled no contest to a DUI charge in 2014.
