El Monte, CA (June 18, 2019) – A man was hit and killed by a train in El Monte. The fatal accident occurred on the afternoon of June 18 on Valley Boulevard.

El Monte resident Alfonso Cardenas, 25, was hit and killed by a Metrolink train near the 11300 block of Valley Boulevard. He died at the accident scene. It is unknown why he was on the train tracks. Nobody aboard the train was injured.
