Woman Sitting on Tracks Killed in Encinitas
Encinitas, CA (May 10, 2018) – A woman was killed on the morning of May 10 when she was struck and killed by an Amtrak train. The fatal accident happened just after midnight on North Vulcan Avenue in Encinitas.
The Amtrak train was traveling at speeds of 80 mph when the conductor saw the woman sitting on the train tracks. The train went int emergency braking mode, but could not stop in time. The woman was hit and killed.
