Bicyclist Killed in Crash Near Fresno and Bullard Avenues

Fresno, CA (January 8, 2020) – A bicyclist was killed in a DUI crash in Fresno. The fatal accident occurred just after midnight on January 8 near Fresno and Bullard avenues.

A man in his 30s was riding a bike when he was hit by a car. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. The driver, Deshawn Mayo, 47, fled the accident scene. Police later arrested him and charged him with DUI and vehicular manslaughter.

E-Cigarette Use Linked To ‘Cobalt Lung’

A case study published in the European Respiratory Journal in December 2019 described a 49-year-old in California who developed hard-metal pneumoconiosis after using e-cigarettes for only six months. The disease is also known as “cobalt lung.” The National Institutes of Health describes the disease as a “rare but serious disease of the lungs associated with inhalational exposure to tungsten or cobalt dust.”
