Ride Share Vehicle Involved in Fatal Santa Clara Accident

Santa Clara, CA (August 25, 2019) – A woman was killed and two others were injured in a crash in Santa Clara. The fatal accident occurred on the morning of August 25 at Lawrence Expressway and Poinciana Drive.

Carol Major, 28, of Santa Clara, was in the back seat of a ride share vehicle when the car was broadsided by another vehicle at the intersection. Major, another passenger and the driver were injured and taken to a local hospital. Major later died.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the friends and loved ones of Carol Major.

A case study published in the European Respiratory Journal in December 2019 described a 49-year-old in California who developed hard-metal pneumoconiosis after using e-cigarettes for only six months. The disease is also known as “cobalt lung.” The National Institutes of Health describes the disease as a “rare but serious disease of the lungs associated with inhalational exposure to tungsten or cobalt dust.”
